What are the main types of highlights hair color for men?
Hair coloring is a custom that has very ancient origins, as evidenced by the discovery of henna leaves in Egyptian tombs. However, exclusively plant-based dyes are not widespread because they are generally less practical and not competitive about the range of shades achievable.
The market today offers a wide range
of highlights hair color for men products
that are classified according to the duration for which there are temporary,
permanent and semi-permanent dyes.
Let's see in detail
what the main types of hair dyes are:
- TEMPORARY TINCTURE: in the form of lotion,
spray, foam or shampoo, it gives rise to a slight surface coloring and can
be removed very easily with shampoo. Examples of this type of highlights dyeing
are colored sprays to cover white hair, formulated as hairsprays
containing pigments.
- SEMI-PERMANENT DYE: it is based on direct dyes
and is effective in changing the base color, permeating the hair. It is a
type of ready-to-use product and the staining is removed after the 4th -
5th shampoo. Reflectors in the form of shampoo or conditioner are an
example of semi-permanent coloring.
- PERMANENT DYE: it is called
"permanent" because these highlights can not be
"discharged" from the hair, but at most fade due to washing and
the sun. It lasts about 1 month because the problem of regrowth arises,
the more visible the greater the difference between the color of the tint
and the natural color. In technical jargon it is also called oxidation
dyeing because the coloring is formed directly inside the hair thanks to
the contribution of an oxidant, hydrogen peroxide. It provides a mixing
phase before application and can give the hair an infinity of shades of
color and a complete coverage of white hair.
